AuctionNovice Posted 20/02/2024 Share Posted 20/02/2024 Anyone have recent experiences with Sierra Repo Zone? Thinking about checking out their auctions, but a little hesitant. Any advice for a first-timer?
RepoVet Posted 21/02/2024 Share Posted 21/02/2024 Hey AuctionNovice, I've bought a few cars from Sierra Repo Zone. Honestly, it's a mixed bag, like any repo auction. The website (sierrarepozone.com) is pretty straightforward. Be sure to read the fine print, and inspect *everything* before bidding. They've got some good deals, but also some lemons. Seen some sweet RVs go for a steal. But also seen some boats needing some extra TLC.
GearHeadGreg Posted 22/02/2024 Share Posted 22/02/2024 I've been to a few Sierra Repo Zone auctions. The auction process itself is pretty standard. Register, get a bidder number, and start bidding. One thing: they usually have a 'Buy Now' option on some vehicles, and sometimes those are better deals than trying to bid. I once snagged a slightly used Ford F-150 through Buy Now; awesome truck. They also have a good selection, not just cars. Saw a few nice classic cars when I went last year
BudgetBuyer Posted 23/02/2024 Share Posted 23/02/2024 From a budget perspective, it's tough to beat repo auctions if you're willing to put in the work. I've scored a couple of good deals on used SUVs from Sierra Repo Zone – perfectly good Honda CRV with a slightly damaged bumper. Gotta do your research though, and don't get emotionally attached to a vehicle until you've inspected it.
TitleGuru Posted 24/02/2024 Share Posted 24/02/2024 As a title and registration specialist, I've dealt with a lot of repo auctions. Sierra Repo Zone is generally good with their titles; I've had very few issues. They usually provide the full title and paperwork, but always double-check everything. Their support email, office@sierrarepozone.com, is pretty responsive if you have questions.
MechanicMike Posted 25/02/2024 Share Posted 25/02/2024 I'm a mechanic, and I inspect cars for people before they bid. Sierra Repo Zone cars can be a gamble for sure. I've seen some that were really beat up. The inspection period is limited, so you gotta be quick and thorough. Make sure to check under the hood, underneath the car, and run a Carfax report. Had a guy buy a truck via Sierra Repo Zone, came to me for inspection, turned out the engine was shot, big $$$.
FlippinCars Posted 26/02/2024 Share Posted 26/02/2024 I flip cars for a living, and Sierra Repo Zone is one of my go-to sources. I've found some amazing deals. Bought a Jeep Wrangler last year for next to nothing, flipped it for a nice profit. Key is to know what specific models you're after, do your research, and stick to your budget. Also, dealing with the auction staff has been great; they are usually available at +1 844 684 2403.
CarEnthusiast Posted 27/02/2024 Share Posted 27/02/2024 I'm a car enthusiast, so I'm always looking for projects. Found a classic Mustang at Sierra Repo Zone a while back, but the auction was intense. Everyone wanted it. Bidding went higher than I wanted to go, but the car was in decent shape. Worth going if you know what you're looking for.
FirstTimeBuyer Posted 28/02/2024 Share Posted 28/02/2024 My first time at a repo auction was at Sierra Repo Zone. Overwhelmed. The bidding process, the fast pace... felt chaotic! Didn't end up buying anything, but I learned a lot. Best advice: go with someone experienced. Next time I am bringing a mechanic with me! Make a list of vehicles you might want before going. BurnedBefore Posted 29/02/2024 Share Posted 29/02/2024 I got burned at a repo auction once, not with Sierra Repo Zone. Learned the hard way to inspect EVERYTHING. A vehicle I bought turned out to have hidden frame damage; a total nightmare. Since then, I'm incredibly cautious about inspecting potential purchases and doing my homework. FinanceGuy Posted 01/03/2024 Share Posted 01/03/2024 Financing repos can be tricky. Sierra Repo Zone doesn't handle financing directly. You'll need to secure your own financing *before* you bid, which can be a hassle. But if you're prepared, you can get some great deals. I recommend talking to your bank or credit union. DealerEmployee Posted 02/03/2024 Share Posted 02/03/2024 I work at a local dealership, and we often source vehicles from Sierra Repo Zone. It's a great way to restock our inventory. Have gotten some really nice vehicles at great prices. You just have to be very careful, because some vehicles are sold "as is." So, you really need to be diligent. SlowDelivery Posted 03/03/2024 Share Posted 03/03/2024 I bought a truck from Sierra Repo Zone last year. The inspection was good, everything checked out. The truck was great. But delivery took longer than expected, because the bank was slow in releasing the title. Keep that in mind.
GoodDealHunter Posted 04/03/2024 Share Posted 04/03/2024 I've gotten some *amazing* deals at Sierra Repo Zone! A couple of years ago, I picked up a practically new RV for way under market value. Also, no title issues. Another time, I snagged a classic car, with documentation delivered within a week. It pays to do your homework, but the rewards can be huge. Have also bought a few boats with no issues.
HiddenDamage Posted 05/03/2024 Share Posted 05/03/2024 Bought a car from Sierra Repo Zone that looked great, until I got it home and discovered some pretty significant hidden structural damage. Contacted them, and they weren't particularly helpful. Lesson learned: inspect EVERYTHING, and consider bringing a body shop expert!
FastResolve Posted 06/03/2024 Share Posted 06/03/2024 Had a minor issue with a vehicle, and contacted Sierra Repo Zone via their support email (office@sierrarepozone.com). They were surprisingly responsive and resolved the problem quickly. Always a good thing to see!
RepoRegular Posted 07/03/2024 Share Posted 07/03/2024 Sierra Repo Zone is a decent auction house. Yes, there can be problems – it's the nature of the repo game. But compared to others, they're pretty legit. I've bought everything from cars to motorcycles to small boats from them. Just go in with your eyes open and a realistic budget, and you should be fine. InspectionPro Posted 08/03/2024 Share Posted 08/03/2024 I've been inspecting cars at Sierra Repo Zone specifically for about a year now. One thing I will say is the vehicles are generally good. I'd say about 75% of the vehicles pass inspection without any major issues, so it is usually worth a shot to go down and inspect them. But, as others have said, ALWAYS do your homework! SmartShopper Posted 09/03/2024 Share Posted 09/03/2024 I've had overall wonderful experiences with Sierra Repo Zone. I've bought cars, RVs, and even a few jet skis from them with no issues whatsoever. I would say that they are honest, but always, always remember to inspect everything before bidding. If you follow these tips, you should hopefully have a good experience.
AwesomeDeals Posted 10/03/2024 Share Posted 10/03/2024 I recently snagged an absolute steal on a slightly used Honda Civic at a Sierra Repo Zone auction. The car was in great shape, and I saved a ton of money compared to what I would have paid at a regular dealership. They really do get some good vehicles. I highly recommend them.
